How to unsubscribe from iPhone if you can’t see the Accounts option

Less than a minute

If you can’t see the “Accounts” option under the Calendar options, you will be unable to unsubscribe from the ECAL Calendar straight away. But don’t worry, you just have to follow a few easy steps to make the “Accounts” option come up on your device.

Go to Settings

  1. Go to the Calendars option
  2. Click ‘Add Account’
  3. Select ‘Other’
  4. Select ‘Add CalDAV Account’

In this section, you need to create a mock account on your iPhone to allow you to access the right section to delete your ECAL Calendar.

  1. Add in a mock server: mock.com
  2. Add in a mock username: mock
  3. Add in a mock password: mock
  4. Click Next
  5. This will bring up a popup stating “Cannot Verify Server Identity”
  6. Click Continue
  7. This will bring up a popup saying “Cannot Connect using SSL”
  8. Click Continue
  9. This will bring up a popup stating “CalDEC account verification failed”.
  10. Click OK
  11. In the top right hand corner, click Save
  12. Continue to click Save where prompted

This will then add your mock account. You will then be taken back to the Calendar section in your settings.

  1. Click ‘Accounts’
  2. Click ‘Subscribed Calendars’
  3. Locate the ECAL calendar you are subscribed to (Most likely the publisher name)
  4. Click this Calendar name
  5. Tap Delete Account to confirm
